Traveling by Car
From Vancouver and Whistler
area via the Highline Road. You will need a
4X4 or a vehicle that can take some rough road.
- Head north on Hwy. 99, pass through
Whistler and Pemberton to Mt. Currie.
- At Mt. Currie continue straight through
to D’Arcy
- Once in D'Arcy, watch for the gas station
on the left. Just past the gas station, cross the
train tracks on the left. The Highline Road begins
here.
- Follow this spectacular road for approximately
1 hour (27km). It will end at the north end of Anderson
Lake - where you will hit pavement again.
- Take a left into Seton Portage - the
Motel is approximately 2 minutes down the paved road,
on your left.
This road has some steep hills and
narrow sections as it follows much the same route as
the Douglas Trail, constructed in 1858 for the gold
rush. Keep your camera handy; views and wildlife are
abundant as you wind along 1500’ above Anderson
Lake.
From Lillooet (78kms)
- Take hwy 40 north from Lillooet and
follow the Bridge River until you reach the Terzaghi
dam and Carpenter lake reservoir.
- Turn left across the dam, through the
tunnel and over mission pass.
- When the road reaches the valley bottom
and turns back to pavement, turn right at the “T”.
- Continue past the BC Hydro power plant,
the bridge river town site and follow the road as
it winds up and over Skeil hill (only a couple hundred
feet high).
- This road will lead you right into
the town of Seton Portage. Look for the motel sign
onthe right.
This road is a combination of pavement
and gravel, but usually in good shape.
